Privacy Policy
schedule Last updated: January 15, 2026Your tarot journal is private by design. This page explains what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have to stay in control.
Your privacy first
Your privacy matters deeply to us. This application is designed as a personal tarot journaling space, and your writing, reflections, and data belong to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect limited information needed to provide access to the app, such as your email address, your name (if provided by a third-party login provider), and a unique user ID. We recommend signing up using Google, Apple, or Amazon to reduce the amount of personal data you need to share.
Journal Entries and Tarot Data
When you use the app, you may voluntarily create and store journal entries, tarot card draws and reflections, uploaded images of tarot cards, and optional tags, moods, or notes. These entries may contain deeply personal information, including names, experiences, or emotions. All journal content is private by default and is never visible to other users.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with their own privacy and security standards.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used only to provide core app functionality, save and display your journal entries, generate tarot prompts and educational content, improve usability and performance, and manage subscriptions and access. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing outside this app.
3. AI-Generated Prompts and Privacy
How AI Is Used
AI is used only when you explicitly request it. Examples include daily tarot prompts, prompt suggestions based on a card draw, and optional prompts based on what you have written.
What Is Sent to AI
When you request AI assistance, a limited portion of your content may be sent to an AI service in order to generate a relevant prompt. We follow strict data-minimization practices: only the minimum text required is sent, no account identifiers are included, and no journal history is shared unless explicitly requested.
What Is Not Done
- Your content is not stored by the AI.
- Your content is not used to train AI models.
- AI does not have access to other users' data.
- AI does not retain memory of your entries.
You can choose to use the app without AI features at any time.
4. Consent and Control
- AI features are optional, and you can withdraw AI consent at any time.
- You can edit or delete individual journal entries.
- You can request permanent deletion of your entire account and all associated data.
- Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
5. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure authentication practices, access controls to prevent cross-user access, separation of user data by account, limiting internal access to sensitive data, and avoiding logging of journal content. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we are intentional about protecting journal content due to its personal nature.
6. Children and Teen Users
This app is designed to be safe and reflective rather than predictive or therapeutic. No public sharing features exist, no social interaction between users is enabled, and AI prompts are reflective, not diagnostic. We do not knowingly collect data for advertising or profiling. Parents or guardians may request deletion of a minor's account at any time.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as your account remains active. Journal entries are stored until you delete them, account data is removed upon account deletion, and backup data is purged within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Third-Party Services
We rely on a limited number of trusted services to operate the app, such as authentication providers (Google, Apple, Amazon), payment processing (Stripe), and AI services for prompt generation. These providers are required to handle data securely and only for their intended purpose.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and withdraw consent for AI usage. You can exercise these rights directly within the app or by contacting us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect improvements or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we will notify users within the app.
11. Contact
If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to your privacy, please contact: hello@pixel-tarot.com.
A Final Note
This app exists to support reflection, self-awareness, and personal growth. Your journal is your space. We treat it with respect.
